With the month of love upon us, I have decided to run a small blog series on love. Or, more accurately, relationships and marriage.
You see: Couples, relationships, marriage, love… they all mean a great deal to me. Maybe it’s because I’ve been married for nearly 18 years to the love of my life and while we may go through our ups and downs, there is no-one else that I would rather share this adventure with. Maybe it’s because I know that the work and sacrifices are worth it when you’ve found your soul mate. Or maybe it’s purely because deep down I’m a romantic at heart!

But let me come back to my series. One thing that I have noticed about my long-term relationship counterparts is that the last lovey-dovey couples photos that we have of ourselves are most likely the ones that were taken at our wedding (and, yes, I include myself in this generalisation – naughty, naughty photographer!)
So, to coincide with the month of love, I have decided to peek behind the curtain of 3 awesome, loved up, real, raw, tired (each couple has 3 to 4 kids!), joyous, fabulous couples. We had some fun photoshoots (where we lost track of time because people were having too much fun staring into each other’s eyes, cuddling, kissing and just loving on each other) and chatted a bit about how they met, what married life is like and their top tips for a happy, loving relationship.
Each couple is very different, as is evident in both the stories they share and the images that I captured. Each photoshoot is the vision of that particular couple (though they might not have realised it at the time); they chose the locations, the outfits and even some of the poses!
